Flap Discs are made with overlapping layers of abrasive-coated, fiber-reinforced flaps that fan out from a central hub to provide long lasting durability. The overlapping layers continually wear away with use to expose fresh abrasive mineral for a fast, consistent cut, while the cushioning of the flaps creates a blended finish. Flap discs typically generate a finish one grade finer than the disc is graded, reducing finishing steps. A grinding aid reduces grinding temperatures for processes involving heat-sensitive alloys such as stainless steel, nickel alloys, and titanium. Flap discs are used on a right angle grinder. One-step alternative to bonded wheels and fiber discs, flap discs grind and finish in a single step, making them a time and cost-saving solution. Flexibility provides easy curve lines and contours with less gouging. Available materials Aluminum, Aluminum Oxide, Assorted, Ceramic, Coated and Non-Woven, Precision Shaped Ceramic Grain, Seeded Gel Ceramic, Silicon Carbide, Zirconia, Zirconium and Zirconia Alumina. Grades are Coarse, Extra Coarse, Extra Fine, Fine, Medium, Super Fine and Very Fine. Grit types range from 24 - 600 and up to P120. Disc diameters range from 2" - 7". RPMs range from 8,600 - 30,0000.
