Overview

The Global Industrial Global @ccess feature allows authorized business customers to securely set up and maintain pages on the Global Industrial website. Two reasons for using Global @ccess pages is to control employee access to the Global Industrial website and to insure that the proper price discount is applied.

A business account's Global @ccess page is maintained by designated employees of the account who are given limited update access to the Global website. Likewise, only a business account's employees are allowed to access that account's Global @ccess page. Therefore, users must log in before they can shop the Global website or maintain their employer's Global @ccess page and they must be set up in the Global system with the appropriate authorization.

Using the Global @ccess Page

To access and use your employer's Global Equipment Global @ccess page:

  1. If you are not logged in, click on Global @ccess on the navigation menu on the lower left hand side of all pages.(Fig. 1). The Login page opens.

    NOTE: If you click Global @ccess and are not an authorized Global @ccess user, the Account Information page opens with an error message.

  2. Log on to the Global website. The Global @ccess page for your employer (Fig. 2) opens.

The Global @ccess Homepage offers the following options:

  1. Click on your account manager's name or photo to open the Contact (Account) Manager page.

  2. Under Administrator Information, click on the administrator's Email address to send an email to the administrator.

  3. If you are the administrator, click on the Access Administration link to open the Global @ccess Administration page to maintain your Global @ccess account. The link is not available for non-administrators.

  4. Next to Administrator Information in a box labeled Global Savings is a display in red of the year-to-date savings realized by your employer because of the discount applied to all orders placed through the Global @ccess account.

  5. The next section going down the page is Recent Orders with a display of your recent orders. Use the Show drop-down list to list All Orders (the default) or just Orders in Process. Click on the Order # of an order to see its details.

  6. Following Recent Orders is the Quotes section displaying your unexpired open quotes, if any. To turn a quote into an order, click on its radio button in the Select column, then click on the button to place the order. Click on the button in the Del column to delete the quote.

  7. Below Quotes is a Requests For Quotes section displaying unexpired, open quotes created in response to RFQs (Request for Quotations) from your organization.

  8. The bottom of the page contains two sections. Under the first, Recently Viewed Catagories, click on any product category link to open the corresponding Product Sub-Category page.

  9. Under the second, Account Information, click on any of the following links:

    • Under My Items:
      • The recent orders link to open the Order History page to track your recent orders.

      • The Your Account link to open the Account Information page to review and modify information for your employer's Global account.
    • Under Shipping & Returns:
    • Under Customer Service:
      • The Contact our Help Department link to send an email to the Service Desk.

Contact (Account) Manager Page

The Contact Manager page (Fig. 3) contains information about the Global Equipment contact manager for your employer's account, including a message from the contact. This information is found in the center of the page. The top contains some basic information about the account, and the bottom is the same as on the Global @ccess Home page.

Global @ccess Administration Page

The Global @ccess Administration page is used to maintain the account's Global @ccess pages. Only the designated Global @ccess administrator for the account has access to it. The normal users from the account cannot access it. The page provides the administrator with the following functions:

  1. Add, modify and delete your employer's Global @ccess users (Fig. 4).

    • To sort the list, click on any column heading with a double arrowhead to sort the list of users based on the contents of that column
    • To add a user, click on the Add New User link and follow the instructions on the page that opens

    • To modify a user's information, click the Edit link for that user and follow the instructions on the page that opens
    • To delete a user, click the button in the Del column for the user.

  2. Modify the Billing Address, Shipping Method or Payment Terms (Fig. 5) by clicking on the corresponding Edit link to open the appropriate page (see My Account for more information on these three items).

  3. Generate Reports by clicking on the View Reports link under Global @ccess Reporting, then click on the report to generate on the Global @ccess Reporting page that opens (Fig. 6). The system displays the report in the Crystal Reports ActiveX Viewer. The viewer provides the option to email or print the report.
