good product, but needs to be heavier

Your review: This product is the exact size as the treads it replaces, but is thinner than the originals.

Pros: Same size and pattern as the original treads.

Cons: Thinner than the original treads- may not give an equivalent lifespan.

Can you install over galvenized steps? Also how does this material hold up to chemicals? They would be installed on a stair way to a pool slide, so they would be introduced to a lot of chlorine.
