Lint Trap

Your review: the box does not close properly causing lint and hot air to escape. We have lined the edges with rubber lining and place clips on the lid to keep it closed

Pros: Catches lint

Cons: Does not close lint escapes hot air escapes

Excellent secondary trap

Your review: My application was the vent blowing onto the roof so wanted to have a secondary filter and this provided an excellent solution.

Pros: easy to install, requires small amount of space right behind the dryer

Cons: There is a slight gap under the internal screen since it is designed with a bow. There could be a strip to block.

Lint Trap

Your review: Does anyone have any ideas as to how to seal the lid to the base. It would require using some sort of gasket that is heat tolerant as the lint trap does get quite warm depending on the dryeer cycle. I also have tried to use a "clip" to hold the lid tighter to the base.

Pros: I installed the lint trap and it is working as it should. The trap was installed as part of a total replacement of the dryer vent from the wall to the outside. After installing the vent, I ran the dryer without any contents three times. It is amazing the amount of lint that came out of the dryer. My clothes now dry in half the time.

Cons: There are two problems with the lint trap. First, it does not seal all the way around the top. This causes lint "dust" to escape which intern can create a fire danger. There needs to be some sort of gasket around the lid to create a tight seal. Also, there are no attachment points on the outside of the trap. Because of this, you are forced to drill trough the bottom of the trap to attach it to the wall.

Great trap

Pros: My dryer's trap is horrible- within 3 months my dryer wouldn't dry anything because the vent was full of lint. I purchased this lint trap and it catches about the same amount of lint that the dryer's lint catches. This is a great product and easy to install.

Cons: One minor con is that the screen doesn't touch the bottom of the box and allows a very very minor amount of lint to go through. The space is about a centimeter opening.

Lint Trap

Your review: I installed this lint trap in a customers basement area that was unfinished. I had to fabricate a mounting bracket that would hold it to a block wall. Works great. Product photo should be upgraded to current model. It would also be nice to have direction of air flow if it makes any difference.

lint trap

Your review: Very good value. Installed easily. Very effective for stopping lint that gets past the lint trap that is inside the dryer. Easy to remove and clean the screen. The unit I received is not exactly as pictured in the photo. Mine has no window in the door like the photo seems to show. Also, the screen, which is shown diagonally inside the metal box, separate from the door, is actually welded directly to the inside of the door. This welded design probably makes removing the screen for cleaning much easier.

Answer This Question

Someone asked the question but it was not directly answered. Can this be used with a GAS dryer?

Answer This Question

My question is two-fold. Can this trap be used with a gas dryer? The outlet lines for the dryer vent run in the garage in a protected enclosure on the floor. Can the trap be mounted on the floor with the trap "door" facing up? Thanks in advance for your help.
