Not difficult to assemble.
Next level from plastic 20" fan
Your review: As expected, this 30" fan delivers more power with height. We use in an elementary school auditorium in a hot day. The assembly is easy 10 minutes. The tricky part was putting back and front cover together until the mechanism was understood. So far we haven't used many hours to assess durability. One of the criteria for the selection was the "18ft" reach to the power outlet; however that length starts from the height of the motor, making it about "11ft" reach in actuality. The noise is unavoidable with this size of motor. (We have not compared it with other similar unit.)
Pros: Relative low cost with powerful motor. Overall design/build is simple and sound. The balance between the top and the base seems good.
Cons: As a wish, an extra long power cord (6 more feet)would be very helpful (when the use of extension cord is ristricted).
ventilation specialist gives it a thumbs up
Your review: As a ventilation specialist, i am very familiar with air movement. This fan does an excellent job of that. I have a 28x36 garage and the air movement is very good across the whole garage. I've have it in a corner on oscillate and does a very good job. However, there are some not so good things about the unit. 1) The cord length states 18 feet which is true but the usable distance is about 12 feet from an outlet (misleading advertising. 2) As previously noted in other reviews the lock down screw to hold the fan 'upright' is not adequate. But a quick remedy for that is to put about 3 washers between the swivel bracket and the pole which will keep the fan in the position you want. 3) This is something that everyone in the market for a fan needs to understand...they make noise! And the greater amount of air that the fan moves the higher the noise level. For me: unless i am standing within 5 feet of the fan, the noise is NOT an issue.
Pros: Good air movement. Very sturdy fan housing.
Cons: Swivel mount needs redesigned but not a deal breaker. I would like to have seen a little quicker way to go from oscillate to stationary. But just removing a small screw on the oscillating arm is all it takes. Again, not a deal breaker.
Needs a couple improvements
Your review: Fan was easy to assemble. Performs very well. Two design suggestions: 1. Would be nice if the stalk could extend about another 6-8 inches higher.2. The bolt that locks the tilt of the motor unit can only be done with a wrench. it should be a hand wheel so that it can be adjusted quickly without having to run out and find a wrench.
Pros: Powerful. This is a fan for a BIG room. (like our church hall) You would not want to use it at a wedding reception in a tent. It would strip everything off your tables!!
Cons: See suggested design changes.
Your review: The back of the house where I have my grill is a covered L-shape which tends to trap all the smoke and heat when I use the grill. My husband had recently ordered one of these fans for his workshop so when he asked what I wanted for my birthday - I asked for this fan. I set it up to oscillate pointed toward the ceiling and it works great !!! Moves the smoke and heat away from under the roof and keeps the grilling area cooler without blowing out the flames on my grill. Fits the bill to a T.
Pros: Big fan area on a pedestal that can oscillate or not ... also tilts.
Cons: No Cons ... my husband also bought the dolly that fits my fan and I have no problem moving it where I want it.
Your review: Very good product, moves air well. Priced well. They work as well or better than the $500 Dayton fans we have.
Pros: I like the switch for changing speeds, the cord length is great.
Cons: Having to use a screw driver to switch from stationary to oscillating
moves air, bit loud
Your review: Have 3 of these, they move a lot of air, bit loud but probably any fan would be, I don't have other to compare. Would be nice if you didn't have to remove screw to have it not oscillate.
Pros: Moves lots of air. Reasonable price. Reasonable time to assemble.
Cons: Oscillating feature not conveniently disabled when not needed, requires screwdriver.
Oscillating pedestal fan
Your review: I love the fan it is very well made and all metal which is what i was looking for. The is just one little thing it is awful loud, I did not realize that it would be that loud.
Pros: It was a good cost, all metal and very sturdy and really moves the air.
Cons: It is loud
we purchased the 30 inch oscillating fan 7/17/2013 and the power control button broke.. Is there a replacement part for this? I have a part # of GZS-6E218247
