J80H Cotter Pin Roller Chain Connecting Link
ALL BROWNING ANSI B29.1 ROLLER CHAIN IS PRESTRESSED,a production operation that permanently "seats" the various chain components. Prestressing minimizes the chain stretch which often occurs with ordinary chain during the initial running period, thus avoids excessive early wear and reduces the need for take-up adjustment. Prestressing minimizes tolerance variations, too, ensuring balanced loading among all parts and avoiding premature fatigue failure.
SHOT PEENING also increases resistance to fatigue. In the shot peening process, Browning chain parts are bombarded by tiny pellets to set up residual stresses that increase the fatigue strength of the Chain.
CASE HARDENING of pins and bushings means longer life for Browning chain. Pins are centerless ground to finish diameter.
