Flo-Fast 15 Gallon Polyethylene Gas Can
Your review: I will use this gas can with a manual pump to refuel a 20 gallon airplane tank. I will carry the can on a hitch carrier. A very clever design feature of this can are the cavities that were molded into the bottom of the can. It appears that their only purpose was to keep the can from sliding sideways or to and fro by fabricating a base with parts that protrude into these cavities. When the can is set onto this base and the base is secured on the hitch carrier, the can cannot slide in any direction. I will put 3 sides on the base that come up to about the 8 gallon mark to keep it from tipping over forward or sideways. I will leave the rear of this box open so I can tilt the full can of gas slightly rearward to get it off of the wooden base and then slide the can off of the hitch carrier onto a dolly. Then I only need a strap around the tank when I'm driving down the road to keep the tank from tilting backward.
Pros: The cavities that are molded into the bottom of the tank gave me a way to restrain the sideways motion of the can when it is sitting on a stationary base with protrusions that extend into those cavities. I don't know for sure if that was the intended purpose of those cavities, but I can't think of any other purpose for them. The polyethylene can seems to be of sufficient thickness and seems to be very durable and will probably last a long time. The pressure release valve is a good feature for when I'm driving down the road and the gas is sloshing and building up pressure. This valve can be opened slightly to keep the pressure down.
Cons: The cap for this tank has very large threads and seems to fit the threads on the can rather loosely. I hope it is not too loose and that it will stay on. I have not used the can yet so we'll see.
