Maple Work Bench Top

Your review: I ordered the workbench top as I did not need a supporting frame or other bench hardware. The price was very competitive and the bench top arrived in a well packaged cardboard and styrofoam box. The unit was mar free and the rounded front edge definitely worth the extra cost both for practical and appearance reasons.

great deal on butcher block

Your review: Nice quality butcher block for way less than other sellers. We needed a butcher block surface for a kitchen island. Quality of this one is nice, and it arrived very fast. Packaging said "crated" and "shipped" from John Boos - not sure if that means it the same as their 1 3/4" maple at way less price, but works for us.

Answer This Question

I recently purchased this product and did notice the fact that it has a mineral oil finish and has to be oiled on both sides at least every month. My question is can I apply several coats of a sealer to completely seal the wood so I wont have to do the oiling. Since this is a workbench top, oil would really mess up any wood project that you might be working on.

Are your maple work bench tops made in USA or imported?

I was about ready to install this top on a assembly table I made and noticed that the top is warped. The long length is convex slightly. How would you recommend I try to correct this since I can't use it as an assembly top unless it is dead flat. I thought of trying to sand it and even gluing a sandwich of MDF or plywood on the top and bottom. It would ruin the beautiful look of the top but I need something that is flat. Any suggestions?
