How To Choose The Right Air Conditioner

Here's how you figure out the correct BTU for the room size. Multiply the length and width of the area. The result is the square footage. For example, a 10' x 10' room = 100 square feet. Now check the chart below for the BTU you need.
A. For square and rectangular rooms, multiply the length of the area by its width. B. For a triangular area, multiply the length of the area by the width and divide by 2
Area To Be Cooled AC Size/BTUs Needed
100-150 Square Feet 5,000 BTUs

Window Air Conditioners

Window Air Conditioners are made specifically for window installation. Used mainly for residential applications, our window units range from 5,000 to 28,000 BTU’s of cooling power along with units that provide cooling and heating options. Most units ship with a window installation kit included.

Wall Air Conditioners

Thru-The-Wall Air Conditioners share most functional attributes with Window ACs but are installed through the wall. These units must be installed in a wall sleeve (sold separately). This style AC also comes in commercial grade and hazardous location ratings for relief in harsh environments. Units range from 8,000 to 36,000 BTU’s and are offered in Cool Only and Cool/ Heat.

Central Air Conditioning

Central Air Conditioning systems are offered as either split unit or packaged systems and provide complete structural cooling and/or heating for residential or commercial properties. Properly installed through a system of ductwork and offered in capacities up to 60,000 BTU’s, these central systems provide total climate control.

Packaged Terminal Air Conditioner (PTAC)

PTAC is another type of through-the-wall AC. PTACs are self-contained heating and air conditioning systems commonly found in hotels and apartment buildings, and are used to cool or heat a single living space or room. We have a variety of sleeve and grille options for all your installation needs. BTU sizes range from 7,000 to 15,000 BTU.

Ductless Split Air Conditioner

For multi-room climate control of a central air conditioning system in limited space, Ductless Split systems are an ideal alternative. Since no ducting is needed, these systems save time and money and are easier to install Cool and Heat systems available for total climate control. Single Zone (for one room) and Multi Zone (two to up to eight rooms) systems available in a variety of BTU configurations.

Portable Air Conditioners

If you cannot donate your window or a section of wall for an Air Conditioning unit, then a Portable Air Conditioner is the unit for you. Portable ACs sit on the floor and can be moved around to provide relief wherever you need it. Units include a hose to direct the warm exhaust air out. Capacities range from 7,000 to 14,000 BTUs with some units available with heat.

Accesories

We offer a large selection of Accessories for all styles of Air Conditioning units; from Central AC protection cages, to line-set covers, mounting brackets, stands, wall sleeves, weatherstripping, covers, thermostats, and much more.
