The Beta 1053 adjustable self-locking pliers have a serrated straight upper jaw for traction and a hinged ("floating") platform on the lower jaw to conform to odd-shaped objects. A knurled thubscrew on one handle adjusts the jaw opening, and a lever on the other handle releases the jaws when squeezed. The jaws and handles have a chrome-plated finish. The adjuster and release lever both have a tough black oxide finish. Measures 240mm long overall (L), with 14mm wide jaws (S). Maximum jaw opening 35mm . Maximum height when closed 72mm.
