These lower shelves are great for extra storage that is out of the way (if you get the deeper tables like we did). The problem is that the holes are really not precisely drilled (or the bench itself doesn't line up well). It was very difficult to make the screws fit because lining up the holes in the shelf and the holes in the bench they bolted onto involved pushing and pulling very hard on the whole setup just to make things line up to get the bolts in. Additionally we received 8 of these and 3 of them arrived with severely bent corners which required us to use a hammer to pound them back relatively straight so we could put the bolts through. Shipping is rough on these. So, they're a great addition to these tables for storage, especially great for computer storage and some longer items, but they have some flaws.
