Cool Attic® 24" Belt Drive Whole House Fan With Shutter

The 24-inch Cool Attic Belt Drive Whole House Fan offers an energy efficient way to trim cooling costs while keeping your entire home more comfortable, and is belt-driven for quieter operation. It is suitable for a home with a 1,200 - 2,000 square foot attic. It allows joist-in or joist-out installation, for ceiling mount application only. Requires 8 square feet of net free air attic exhaust vent area. Rough opening is 26" x 28". It includes a white automatic shutter and a 2-speed switch with wall plate. A 2-speed thermally protected 1/3 HP, 5 amps, 115 volt/60 hertz PSC motor pulls hot air from your home and expels it through your attic exhaust vents. Pre-assembled and ready for installation, it is covered by a 10-year limited warranty.

Some misinformation

Your review: Product itself is very good for the money. However---was told by sales person that the shutter would work in a vertical position. It doesn't. Called to gripe. Rather limited response from "customer service" Had to purchase vertical mount shutter from another source.

Not quite satisfied.

Your review: Honestly- I would have expected this quality from something half the price. ¿Shutter assembly needs to be a heavier gauge metal, as it is flimsy. ¿The volume of fan is MUCH louder than what I had read descriptions of online...(no, it is not the same decibels as a microwave oven in use).

Your review: Had the unit installed a few days after receiving from the freight company. Package was well protected from shipping mishaps, and all arrived well. Installation went well, and everything works fine.
