Are there better hand rotary pumps for drinking-quality water? How long do these last under heavy use? Can these be stored outside?
Question Asked By: Ryan, December 11, 2019

Product Expert, December 12, 2019
Hello, for drinking-quality water, an FDA approved pump would be best. Unfortunately, there are no FDA approved rotary pumps, but model # B623209 is a double-action pump (pumps in both the down and up strokes for double the speed) that would be the recommended FDA approved pump. This unit is very durable and can be stored outdoors when temperatures are above freezing. Thank you for your question.

Looks like this pump should work for pumping a 5% solution of salt in water from a 50 or 55 gallon drum, right? Any internal components that would corrode from contact with the salt water?

Hello, yes this model is an appropriate rotary pump for a 5% solution of salt in water. However, if the fluid was a higher percentage of salt, such as a salt brine solution, then model number B937096 would be more appropriate. Thank you for your question.
