Good Shovel

Your review: A bit heavy, but to be expected as it's made of steel. Good for icy or hard-packed snow. Handle length is comfortable.

Pros: Steel blade lasts longer than aluminum with wear strip.

Cons: Came unassembled, care needs to be taken when driving wood handle into heel/holder on back of shovel blade.

Ames Artic Blast 18* Steel Snow Sovel

Your review: saved me from having to drive miles away to find what I needed. With an all steel blade, such as this shovel has, I can wear the shovel down to where the handle socket starts to hit the ground! This shovel should last me 8-10 years where others would only last 1-2. The wood handle is also a plus. It is much warmer in your hand than a steel handle.

Pros: Heavy gauge all steel blade. Ash wood handle. Strong Plastic grip. Lighter weight than those "pusher" shovels. Cost with shipping about the same as comparable shovels at the store(If you can even find them!)

Cons: Didn't come with retaining screw to hold the blade on (Easily remedied if you have sheet metal screws handy).

Cons: have to go to the store a buy the screw (the right screw) to attach handle to blade.

steel snow shovel

Your review: I like the fact that with this shovel you can scrape the ice without bending the end of he shovel. With aluminium shovels they bend. With plastic shovels they wear out fast. With steel they wear longer!

Pros: The steel blade lasts longer and is a better ice scraper.

Cons: The shovel is hevier that the other types. You can't plow the snow as easily as you can with the curved blade shovels.

heavy-duty snow shovel

Your review: Sturdy construction should still be working for years to come. The texture of the D-handle is a little aggresively painful with bare hands, but assures non-slip grip while wearing gloves.
