    Stanley Classic

Your review: The 10-099 is one of Stanleys long time classic retractable utility knifes for a reason. It's time tested, its a work horse that lasts, and lasts. I've had one for personal use for a couple of decades, and it works as well today, as the first day I purchased it. Can't go wrong with this item, at all..

Pros: It's a Stanley. Work Horse. Built to last

    Cons: Not one thing

    Still the Best

Your review: My first utility knife, (back in the 60's) was a Stanley #99, and I never thought much about it. It always worked, and spare blades were always at hand, and it felt good to hold. Over the years, I must have lost or wore out a dozen or so. I tried the "Break-away" blade knives, and some other, usually flimsy, utility knives. A few years ago, I bought a folding utility knife because it looked "High Tech". After a couple of big jobs, I realized my hand got sore holding the new knife, and I was frustrated by having to stop to find a new blade to change, one at a time. When I found these "99E" knives, I decided to go back to what worked for me. I am glad I did.

Pros: Easy to use. Spare blades always on hand. Durable. Comfortable to hold. The new model has more blade stops (It doesn't matter to me, but some will like it.)

Cons: The threads for the handle screw are a little rough and tight, and it is not as easy as it used to be to use a dime as a screwdriver to change blades. It seems to me that it is a little harder than it used to be to assemble after changing blades.
