We installed this attic fan at the suggestion of the installers of a new A/C unit installed in the attic space over our bedroom. The thermostat installed with the unit failed to shut the fan off at the lower temperature (10F below the set temp). In fact, it failed to shut the fan off at all. A replacement thermostat was provided by Broan. We replaced the thermostat. I have now been trying for about a week to find a setting that shuts the fan off at about 75F, since the fan is in the attic space above our bedroom. The fan is noisy enough to be really bothersome trying to sleep and I figured that if it went off at 75F, that would be high enough to shut off well before we went to bed. I purchased a digital, wireless inside / outside thermometer to monitor the temps in the attic. With that, I have attempted to find a setting on the manual dial that turns the fan off at 75F indicated by the wireless thermometer which is adjacent to the fan. By trial and error and multiple trips up a ladder into the attic space, I found a setting on the fan thermostat that turns the fan off at around 75F. The thermostat, by the way, is set to about 90F. This fan clearly needs a digital thermostat that has a reliable, accurately set, on and off temperature setting mechanism. Better yet, the fan needs to be a lot quieter. -

I just had two new 358 installed with my new roof. Both are very loud compared to the two older Broan fans I replaced only because I figured it was a good time to replace them with the new roof. I can hear these fans running over the volume of the TV! -
