Material can be punched or sheared with minimum burring and distortion. Shim is clearly marked with material type, thickness and lot number for full traceability. Precision Brand 316 Stainless Steel Shim is made from a soft (annealed) temper material. Type 316 stainless steel has better corrosion resistance to most chemicals, salts, acids, and marine atmospheres due to an addition of 2.0 to 3.0% molybdenum.
