Awesome fan! Comes on regularly and reliably for years now! Ventilating the attic is very important! Get it before you face costly roof repairs and replacement! It actually makes your house cooler in the summer as well. -

The installation went great. I gave it a short test and it seemed to work fine and it was fairly quiet. Then I tried to adjust the thermostat and the white knob came off. Looked at the thermostat and there is a hole but nothing there to attach the knob to. Apparently the thing it attaches to fell inside the sealed thermostat. Now what? There is no warning about this in the instructions. This is a design and documentation failure. -

Purchased in June 2010 from Grainger through my employers' corporate discount program with them. Need was to ventillate attic space with goal to reduce cooling costs--performed above my expectations! Moved to new location and, re-installed this unit in this location. Runs virtually continuously for long periods of time, and, only gets a squirt of oil every year. This is probably one of the best $113.09 investments I have ever made in terms of return and cost-to-maintain. Quiet and trouble-free, also. Every residence should have these in their gable vent(s) where extreme high temperatures prevail. Quality products like Broan/NuTone don't really 'cost' in light of the 'values' they 'pay'/return. -

My fan died after about 8 years. Other than that it worked just fine. Could not be more pleased, all motors die sooner or later. Considering the extreme attic temperatures I was surprised it lasted over 4 years. For the price at Lowe’s you can’t beat it. Off to get another one! -

Great potential if only the fan was balanced at the factory. Vibration is horrible. -

Other fans on the market from Home Depot vibrate as the fan is not balanced. What about vibration when this fan is operating ? Will the fan shut off after the attic cools down at set point? If not what other fan models provide temperature set point for on & off operation?

This fan does not vibrate when operating. None of our fans turn off by themselves at a set point because once the fan turns off the area is just going to get hot again.
