Scotch-Brite™ Clean and Strip Unitized Wheel is hard, open-web wheel for aggressive coating removal, cleaning welds, and removing rust, paint, and coating. The layered, durable unitized wheel construction and hard 7 density, with low conformability, works well with portable tools and die grinders to reach tight or confined areas.
The extra coarse silicon carbide mineral combined with a tough synthetic web effectively removes scale, rust, surface contaminants, paints and coatings. Our wheel is also well suited for removing weld discoloration and splatter. The dense, open-web construction and aggressive properties produce a wheel that runs smoothly and that resists loading, even when removing soft coatings. Abrasive mineral: Extra coarse grade silicon carbide. The Scotch-Brite™ Clean and Strip Unitized Wheel is filled with silicon carbide abrasive mineral, a synthetic mineral that is very sharp and commonly used for low-pressure applications such as paint prep. While it breaks down faster than aluminum oxide, it produces a superior finish. Our Scotch-Brite™ industrial abrasives are unique surface conditioning products with abrasives incorporated into non-woven nylon or synthetic fibers. Combining abrasives with the fibers creates an abrasive system that delivers consistent results for the life of the product. We have chosen an open-web material that runs cool and is load resistant, which keeps the abrasive minerals cutting at high performance by limiting clogging of the fibers.
