Decent, but not professional quality
Your review: In a nutshell, this lamp is made mostly from cheap plastic, but it fits my needs pretty well. I'd say it'd be perfect for a hobbiest who does not plan to use it in a professional setting. Daily wear and tear in an industrial setting will most likely destroy this thing over time. If your one of those people like me who likes the locking boom design, but needs professional quality, check out the Carson CP-80. It's set up very similar to this, but is built much better for professional use. It's also way more expensive... That being said this is affordable and to me that makes it worth it.
Pros: -Glass optics (plastic lens's scratch easier) -Inch and Millimeter scale integrated with pedestal -Good value
Cons: -The optics are not of the best quality. The magnifying lens is by no means bad, but doesn't offer the same clarity of higher end magnifiers. Also, the 1.75x magnification is a bit underpowered, in my opinion. -The plastic polymer this lamp is cast from seems brittler than other plastics out there. I can see the plastic parts cracking over time, especially if in constant sunlight.
