The vial has external threads, which provide a smooth and uniform inner surface which reduces the risk of contamination. The three-way configuration of these stopcocks permits connection of any two or all three ports. Barbed tubulations accept rubber or plastic tubing. They are made of PVDF (polyvinylidene fluoride), a fluoroplastic resistant to most chemicals that withstands temperatures up to 204°C (400°F). Maximum pressure rating 34.3 KPa (5 psi). Steam autoclavable.
