Vestil Crane

Your review: Works really well once it is set up. It is a breeze picking up heavy items. My 320 lb. generator is like a feather.

Pros: Well made. Good value for the dollar. Unit is rugged. Because of the cantilever design, do not need a ground support like the others on the market.

Cons: Quality of finish - Rough edges and tight fits required some sand and filing. Assembly / disassembly - not hard but the heavy components are cumbersome. Adjustments - getting the adjustments right on the screw sets took some time. Storage - could use a carrying case for storage when not in use.

Your review: Fits my F-250 without any interference. Simple and functional design. Easy to load my 220 lb. generator in the truck bed in minutes. Slop and wiggle in the crane because of all of the joints and an unusable hitch collar (for my application) may force me to support the crane at the(vertical post)end of the base frame to provide more stability.

Pros: Rugged and heavy duty. Winch works well. Ample cable length provided.

Cons: 1) WEIGHT: The crane is heavy/bulky which makes it challenging to mount to the truck w/o complete disassembly. 2) FIT: The hitch collar does not fit around the end of the truck receiver flange. Unfortunately, w/o the collar I cannot prevent the hitch bar from moving relative (up-down and left-right) to the truck receiver. 3) MOVEMENT: There is a lot of slop in the attachment of the base frame to the hitch bar. The 4 adjusting screws are limited functionally in how much adjustment can be made. 4) ASSEMBLY: When assembling the boom & the boom brace, there were large gaps between the parts at the attachment points which had to be made up by washers. This made the assembly difficult holding the washers in place while sliding the bolts through the holes. 5) PART QUALITY: The boom frame had a lot of burrs from manufacturing which were not knocked off which made it easy to cut yourself. The hitch bar had square corners which I had to round in order to get it in the truck receiver.
