I bought this flange to connect a catwalk railing banister to a brick wall. The railing terminus was unattached; instead, there was simply a recess cut into the masonry. This flange correctly acquires the banister (a 1.5" pipe), and the base's holes allow you to secure the device to the brick wall. I have not yet connected it to the wall. **Sent to CS 66 -

I bought this for an exterior railing on a catwalk outside the 2nd floor of our 100-y-o office building. The rail's banister end was not attached to the building; they just cut a recess into the bricks and let it rest in the masonry, to repeat, with no fasteners at all. **Sent to CS 66 -
